I have spent the last six months working at the Fr. Ray Foundation and it has truly changed my life. I feel so honoured to have had the opportunity to be part of such an amazing organisation. Throughout my stay in Pattaya I was able to work at the Drop-In Center, The Children’s Home, with the old people, teaching English at Mahathai (Vocational School for the Disabled), and of course many hours with the babies in the baby room at the Orphanage.Volunteer from USA

Each different project really touched me. I came to Thailand to get the chance to help people and learn about and understand another culture, but in the end I feel that all of the children taught and helped me so much more than I could ever do for them. I really learned a lot whilst working here. I learned to love people like I had never experienced before. Being with the babies all day taught me about an unconditional love that I never knew existed.

At Mahathai I grew to love teaching and my students. I learned so much about my student’s lives, and felt so proud of the work we accomplished. I learned about discipline and completing a commitment because there are days where it can be really hard work but the children always reminded me how amazing the Fr. Ray Foundation is.

While I was in Pattaya I lived in the Volunteer House. Living here was yet another wonderful experience. I was able to live with people from all over the world. I learned a great deal about other countries and their cultures. The Volunteer House also taught me so much. I learned about problem solving and how hard and rewarding it can be to live very close with many different personalities.

I have made friends that will always be part of my life. I am so grateful for the friendships that I made whiles working in Pattaya, not only with other volunteers but with the children, students and staff at the Foundation, and they will always have a special place in my heart.

The Fr. Ray Foundation is a place that I will never forget and always miss.
