Father Ray Foundation
Although the Thai New Year festival of Songkran officially takes only three days, here at the Foundation we first celebrated it on the 8th of April and today, the 19th, it is the final day.
This morning it was the turn of Father Michael to wash the statue of Father Ray, dress it on a new garland and then give a blessing to all the children and students who arrived on our main complex to celebrate Pattaya’s Songkran.
There was the official and traditional ceremony where the children and staff pay respects to the elders, and they poured scented water of their hands before receiving a sprinkling and a blessing in return.
Then it was off to have fun, and the whole idea of the whole day is to throw water over anyone you want to and expect to have it thrown back at you!
