Father Ray Foundation
The annual International Bed Race took place on the evening of Sunday January 29th, and the Father Ray Foundation had two teams competing.
This event has become a very popular occasion on the Pattaya calendar, and more than thirty teams took part.
The foreign volunteers were pushing a bed which had been sponsored by Seashells Fish & Chip Restaurant inLondonand the team was hoping to do better than last year when they came second to the team from the Tourist Police.
The older boys from the Father Ray Children’s Home were going to be pushing the bed which was sponsored by a local Rotary Club, but they all looked shocked and surprised when they discovered who would be in the bed – a six foot tall foreign man wearing a dress and covered in make-up.
After parading the beds through the city the race started and the volunteers ran as fast as their legs would take them.
So fast that they crossed the finish line a minute faster than any other team, therefore claiming the winner’s trophy.
