First Day of a New School Year

For two of our youngest residents at the Fr. Ray Children’s Home, Monday the 17th was a day to remember; it was their first day of school. Whilst they waited nervously for the bus to arrive which would take them the short journey to their new school, several of the older girls started telling them horror stories about what their day was going to be like, and unfortunately these two young girls believed every word and climbed onto the bus in tears. However tears were son dried as our teachers calmed them down, told them not too worry and everyone had a good laugh. One boy going to school for the very first time could not wait to go, and was the first one to climb onto the bus, and claim his place on the back seat, only to be manhandled down to the front by the older boys. Everyone looked very smart on their brand new uniforms and satchels, though we know that they will not be as clean when the children return home.
