It is the last ceremony, or event that the leaving students will attend. One where they sit in a large circle, together with the teaching staff and volunteers and which starts with each student presented with a garland of jasmine from the college Principal.
Each student also holds a candle, and as the first candle is lit it goes on to light all the candles. The microphone is then passed from one to the next, and each student is given the opportunity to say something to their teaches and fellow students. It is often emotional, the school has done so much for the students, changed their life and given them the encouragement when no one else would.
They will return in December for the graduation ceremony, and wearing their graduation gown they will listen for their name to be called, and not just their name, but also the course they completed and their place of employment; every former student has a job.
