Fah

Family History and General Information

Fah was abandoned in a construction workers’ house when she was born. Fah’s biological parents are completely unknown. A couple, who already had their own daughter, working as construction contractors found her and decided to adopt and care her since then. This couple raised Fah until she was three years old. They were afraid that they could not be able to take good care of her anymore because they did not have enough money to pay for both Fah and their own daughter’s education. So, they decided to ask for help from friends, who were ready to take care of Fah.

This couple took care of Fah, moving from Uttaradit – a province in the north of the country, to Chonburi. They took care of Fah until they had their own daughter a few months ago. A few months ago, Fah was found by an elderly neighbour when she came to her house crying for help. Fah was suffering from blisters on her legs from boiling water and a gash on the back of her head. She could not explain what happened and just wanted to be helped. An air conditioner service man who happened to be at the elderly neighbour’s house decided to take Fah and ask for help from the Social Development and Human Security Office of Chonburi. The Office of Chonburi then transferred Fah to our Drop-In Center, knowing it is a safe place for Fah. It is our hope that we will be able to give her the the best education available, and therefore the possibility of a good future.

Fah is now happily studying in Grade 5. Her favourite subject was Computers as she says her teachers are very kind and it is fun to learn with them.

At school, Fah gets along well with all her classmates. She is friends with everyone, but at the Village, her best friend is Toong-Pang and Fah. They are very close and like to draw, colour and watch cartoons together.

Fah has a very good appetite, eating pretty much anything, but her favourite food she says stir fried minced pork with basil leaves. Overall, she continues to be healthy and strong with no major issues.

Fah is living happily in Orchid House. She has the daily chore of cleaning the staircase and landing area, which she does with a little encouragement from her House Mother. She is a lovely young girl who continues to grow and learn every day.
