Family History and General Information
Nampun comes from a poor and broken family in Bangkok. His parents are separated while his father whereabouts is unknown. His mother stated that Nampun’s father is Japanese. Nampun is the youngest child of his mother with four older siblings from another two fathers. Nampun’s mother has drug abuse problems and is unemployed.
Nampun and his family live in Klong Toey, a district in central Bangkok, well known for its slum. In September, a Catholic priest who helps the poor in the slum area met Nampun’s mother and was asked by her for help. The priest helped her find a job as a cleaner at one of the local Catholic schools.
The priest then asked for help from our Village, with the hope that Nampun receives the best education available, and therefore the possibility of a good future.
Nampun is almost three years old. He is a cheerful little boy. Everyone is quite pleased and relieved to observe Nampun being able to adapt himself to the new environment as well as his friends, at the Village. Continued close monitoring and supervision are being maintained to ensure that his transition into his new life goes as smoothly as possible.
