Father Ray Children's Home

Education is not just about what a child learns in a classroom at school. At the Father Ray Children’s Home we want our children to learn the skills they will need to live and independent life, and cooking is a skill that could mean they will never go hungry.

We gave the cook a day off recently and announced a cooking competition which all the children would be involved in.

Split into small groups, the children were asked to produce an omelette filled with pork, fried fish, spicy som tam salad, stir fry vegetables and a pot of chicken soup.

Judges gave prizes for the best tasting dishes and the best thing about the whole competition was the children could eat what they produced.
